We welcome our new Head Volleyball Coach, Lauren Ovalle!

Coach Ovalle (pronounced Oh-vah-yeh) is no stranger in our community. She is an experienced volleyball coach and teacher, currently serving as an honors anatomy & physiology and biology teacher at HFA.

She received her Bachelors of Education from the University of Toledo, and her Masters of Biological Sciences from Clemson University. Coach Ovalle moved to Nashville in 2018 and has loved every moment of it! Volleyball has been an integral part of her life for many years and she is thrilled for the opportunity to coach our Hume-Fogg volleyball team.

Coach Ovalle served as the Junior Varsity and Assistant Varsity coach at CPA (Christ Presbyterian Academy) and as the Freshman coach at Cardinal Stritch High School in Oregon, OH. These coaching experiences have provided Coach Ovalle with valuable insights into developing young athletes and fostering their love for the sport.

Coach Ovalle began playing competitive volleyball at a young age, played competitively throughout her college years and presently, she continues to play in advanced-level local leagues. In her free time, you can find her playing three to four evenings a week! Additionally, by being involved in the local volleyball community, Coach Ovalle has made life-long friendships with many of her teammates.

Outside of volleyball, Coach Ovalle enjoys spending time with her close friends, trying her hand at pickleball, and visiting with her family when they are in Nashville. She has a Golden Retriever named River that she takes hiking and who accompanies her to many of the local dog-friendly businesses.

Coach Ovalle looks forward to a fulfilling season of growth, challenges, and successes!
